Holiday Movie Outing (3)

Another holiday outing with Nicole - Movie and Food. Nicole was especially well behaved the night before the movie excursion as she was excited about catching her first movie ever.

Since I got back to work, more than 3 months ago, I have not had any private outing session with Nicole.

Lawrence and I enjoyed her company as much as she enjoyed ours. We all had a good time watching "The Desperaux" though I did feel a little out of place seeing that the cinema was filled 90% by kids, below 10.

She told me that she had drawn a cat on the back of the whale but I thought it was a fox at first glance :) and of course I didnt have the heart to ask her for her logic in drawing a cat on the back of a great big whale ! :)

Body language

Nicole is pretty good at reading expressions!

I was obviously not pleased with her piano performance as she wasn’t paying attention to the counting when she played and it was evident from my body language.

Nic “ Mummy, are you not happy with me?”
Me “ Well, it’s ok, try again” (trying to be nice)

Nic “ I can tell from your face that you are upset with me!! You just don’t say it out” (as though it was my fault for getting upset :( )

Me “ What do you want me to say, Nicole? You are not paying attention” (I didn’t know whether to laugh or to be harsh on her….)

She got real angry this time and we decided to call off the practice to cool down, for both Nicole and me :(

School holiday treat (2)

Another outing with Nicole during the school holidays - nothing but food and play! Her favourite ice balls and tamago sushi! Thereafter, we proceeded to Toy' r' us and Nicole picked 2 beautiful tiaras as she is one real princess Wanabe!

We bought 2 remote control cars for little Chubby since he wasn't there to choose for himself as he was still in half day play school.

School holiday treat for little vainpot (1)

I took several days off during the school holidays. Time spent with the kids was all worth it. For one of the bonding sessions I actually took Nicole for a kiddy pedicure treatment, thinking that I wanted to give her a little treat for completing her work. It was her first ever visit to a nail spa and she was immensely atttracted by everything and anything she laid her eyes on.

Of all the nail colours, she chose orange. Guess why? because she already has a full set of colours at home except for orange! When the pedicurist offered her some stickers for her nails, she was absolutely overjoyed at the marvelous suggestion! Nicole was so pleased with the output that she slept with her legs up on the bedframe!

An eye for an eye

Ethan is picking things up fast. I bought some cakes home and gave some to him.

Ethan “ Wah…wah…cake”
Nic “ Ethan, No wah! The rest is mine”

Then I gave Nicole a special piece of pastry, for completing her work.

Nic “ Wah….so yummy!”
Ethan “ Jie jie, no wah. Mine!!”

We all just broke into laughter simultaneously :)

Jaymee's 1st birthday!

We all had our stomach filled to the brim at the sumptuous buffet high tea served at Jaymee's 1st birthday.

The host had very generously enaged a magician to entertain the kids. Thereafter, it was another exciting performance - the kids' favourite balloon scuplturing session! Nicole was the happiest of all as she got to eat a whole lot of sugary food which is usually banned in our household! Well, I guess it is ok "once in a blue moon" as Nicole proclaims it!

A walking parrot

Ethan is undergoing a language explosion phase. He is literally a walking parrot, repeating after almost everything we say, especially those words we use when we reprimand Nicole. All day long, he would sing loudly as he plays with his toys.

Ethan " Jie-jie, sit down, eat"

Ethan " Jie-jie, wake up! lt's late!"

Ethan " Oh no! Spill!"

Rose " Ethan, did you pass motion?"
Ethan " No poo poo, it's ok"

Rose could smell his poo poo and went to check on him. Quickly, he ran away because he didnt like to be washed under cold water. That explained his response :) One cheeky chubby!

Nicole and the slide

Nicole insisted on having a swim at our new apartment before it was tenanted out. She was predominantly attracted to the slide :). Ethan joined in the fun too but I had to slide down with him, hence the picture is not uploaded :)

We are very thankful that our place was taken up pretty quickly after TOP and tenant seems a nice guy so far :)

Posessive Nicole

We attended a party and I met a male friend whom I have not seen for ages. Instantaneously, being very aussie, he came forward and we exchanged a friendly peck on the cheek. This outraged my possessive little girl. She pulled me over and whispered sternly into my ears.

Nic " Mummy, Don't you ever kiss a man! I dont like you to kiss him. Remember!" (while wearing an angry and disturbed expression on her rosy and chubby face)

Bad taste?

Lawrence and I had a small argument over the decorative lightings for our new place which is currently tenanted out.

Law " I think you have no taste. I have such good taste. Why do I even need to ask you for an opinion?"

Me " Certainly. Look at whom I married and whom you married! What more do I need to say?"

Lawrence was speechless for a good 10 seconds and that made my day!! :)

Neat hand writing

As a result of her new found interest in writing, Nicole has shown tremendous improvement in writing chinese characters. :) :)

Nicole seems to have interest in everything. The latest of which is singing! She has been singing this"Hakuna Matata" song in Lion King, day in day out!

An interesting birthday party

Nicole and Ethan were having a good time at little Nicole Teo's 3 y.o. birthday party celebration. Little Nicole's mummy and I were sec school mates and we have been keeping in touch since we graduated more than a decade ago.

It was quite an interesting scene when Nicole handed the present to little Nicole as they were both named Nicole.

Little Nicole has so many toys at home that the house can literally be turned into a mini nursery any time! No joke!

Greenie's potential!

A friend of mine bought a little Greenie for her daughter some 4 years back and now, Look! It means Nicole's little Greenie will have the same potential too! We will need to find Greenie a bigger home soon!

Territorial segregation

Nicole has been exhibiting some possessive traits. She tags her name on all the household items which she wants to keep to herself and away from Ethan, including the little red chair which Ethan has been using whenever he puts on his shoes; storage boxes, electric motorbike etc. Likewise, Ethan reciprocates by guarding his toys and marking his territory. Sigh! I wish there could be more hormony in the household :(
