It was the second time Ethan met his cousin, Joe since birth and most certainly, Ethan has grown a lot, so much so that Joe who is 7 months older, instinctively acknowledged Ethan as his "gor- gor" purely by his physical build!

Mom " Joe, this is Ethan, do you still recognise him?"
Joe " Gor-gor " ( meaning big brother in Chinese)
Mom " No no no. Ethan is your "di-di" (meaning little brother)

We all just had a good laugh at them! :)

My little artist!

Nicole was casually doing some drawings while waiting for her favourite show - little nyonya. Lawrence came over to strike a conversation.

Lawr " Who are you drawing, Nicole?"

Nic " Gonggong and popo"

Lawr " why do they have 4 legs each?"

Nic " Papa, look! The white part is the shorts not legs! Silly you!"

Lawr " oh oh...sorry...is it raining?"

Nic " of course not! Can't you see the sun?" (getting very agitated with her papa)

Lawrence decided to get going for a swim thereafter :)

Snack

Breakfast TV snack for Nicole on a Sunday morning while watching her favourite Micky Mouse!

First class seat

Ethan is no loser when it comes to dealing with Nicole.

One morning after returning home from his morning walk with my dad, he saw my mom watching TV with Nicole. Nicole was seated right in front of my mom, on the playmat. He wanted that seat and he knew he just couldn't move Nicole away without consuming some brain cells. He gestured to Nicole that he was going to bite her by opening his mouth wide. Upon seeing the fierce intruder, Nicole bounced right up to the sofa and the "seat" was naturally vacated. Swiftly, Ethan transitioned himself to the "first class" seat as he deemed it, while giving Nicole a cheeky smile :)

"Hashim"

I read a short story to Nicole and I told her to pay attention as I was going to ask her just one question from the story. There were 18 pages to the pictorial story book and the name Hashim only appeared once.

Me "What is the name of the little boy?"

Nic " Hashim"

Me "Wow, I am impressed. It showed that you did pay attention to everyword I read. Good job!"

Indeed a big consolation to me! Though I am back to work, Nicole is still progressing well :)

Little salad chef

Nicole is my sweetest little girl.

She made some fruit salad in school and she kept it in the fridge till I got home just to share with me. How sweet of my little angel! But, I must confess, I did have an upset tummy after eating it:( It's still worth it I guess :)

Our new place

Ethan is roaming about at our new place. He was having a fun time walking in and out of the various rooms and he even manged to turn on the water tap at the balcony, splashing the water everywhere!

We collected the keys from the developer last month and I don't really feel like moving over given the hassel. So, most likely, we would just tenant it out.

Same addiction

Doesn't Ethan look bigger than Nicole? Ethan is really very round and cute :)

Both have the same addiction to their respective nappy. I didn't think preferences could be genetic until I see this similar trait in the 2 of them :)

So what if it is made in XXX?

At times, I can just lose my senses when it comes to tackling Nicole.

Nicole received heaps of christmas presents and many of which were color pencils and alike. I didnt want her to open up all the boxes and I thought I could stop her.

Nic " Mom, may I open this box of color pencils please?"
Me " No, sweetie, you have opened up so many boxes and they are left unused"
Nic " I promise I will use them all"
Me " Now, let me check. This is made in XXX. Let's not touch it" (Just an excuse I made up. I always use this on junk food)
Nic " Oh man! I am not eating it, so does it matter?" (showing me a frustrated face :( ) and she walked away from the table )

Well, I achieved my objective but I certainly did not anticipate this bitter tone from my little girl :(

Your daughter, my daughter

Nicole is one real petty goat. I disallowed her to eat a 3rd helping of persimon and she was not happy with my decision and dashed upstairs to look for her popo.

Nic " Popo, I am very angry with your daughter!"
Popo " What happened?"
Nic " Your daughter doesnt let me eat more persimon and she doesnt buy me a pair of high heels like Samantha's. I have been dreaming about it"

I was just at the door while the dialog took place.

Me " Nicole, I am very upset with my daughter too! She is not being very obedient today"

We all just had a good laugh at Nicole! :)

Rivalry

Ethan has been bullying Nicole quite a fair bit lately. He likes to pull her hair and bite her toes. Nicole has been very tolerant and she has been reporting it to me diligently instead of taking it in her own hands.

Nicole painted a very beautiful piece of art work for me but Ethan snatched it away from her and in the process, tearing it into pieces. Upon seeing her masterpiece being destroyed, Nicole broke into tears instantly. In order to comfort her, I rewarded her with 2 pieces chocolates for her effort.

Me " Nicole, dont cry. Here is your reward. Ethan was a little cranky because he didnt have a good afternoon nap. I will remind him not to repeat his action"
Nic " What are you going to reward him with?"
Me " No rewards for him"
Nic " How about rewarding him with a cane? a super big cane?"
Me " oh no no no. I will first give him a warning"

I wonder if it was meant to be a joke or Nicole was serious about her remarks!

BBQ

BBQ again. This time in celebration of the birthdays of 2 big boys - Eddie and Lawrence. As usual, there was plenty to eat and drink - crab claws, sirloin beef, lamb rack, cheese sausages, wine - red and white and rose, beer of all sorts etc etc.

The adults were busy catching up while the kids were having their fun time too. Ethan too was enjoying his home cooked cod fish porridge while pulling his all time favourite nappy over his head :) Wasn't he cheeky!?

Nicole had a mini ballet performance last week and she did relatively well. I was rather impressed with her listening skills. She was able to dance in tune with the music beat which was not easy to nurture in a 4 y.o., so said her teacher.

It was a rather entertaining session, watching all the little angels dancing about in all sorts of poise and pose.
