Quick witted E

We walked into a bakery. Instantly, E ran to the cream cakes section. He pointed to the biggest chocolate cream cake on display. ( 1 kg).

E “ Mummy, I want this”
N “ No, Mummy, I want this slice of fresh fruit cake, just a small one”

E” No, I want the big big chocolate cake”

Me “ No Ethan, this is way too big. Let’s just get a slice of fruit cake each “

E “ No No!...I like chocolate cake only”

Me “ No Ethan”

E “ But it is my birthday…” (speaking softly and displaying his pitiful pleading look)

Looking at my little boy, I had no heart to deny him of his wish though his birthday was still a month away. I couldn’t figure out how he could have dreamt up such a “timely” reason to have his wish granted. We bought the big chocolate cake at the end.

Upon seeing my action,

L added “ Oh I see. Ethan, papa will take you to the car showroom next time and mummy will say “yes” to all your wishes. You will tell mummy you want the latest 7 series, ok? ”


I gave L a dirty look :( :)

Yellow Belt!

Nicole's 2nd grading for advancement to yellow belt after 3 months into taekwondo. She was full of confidence that she would do well and indeed, her instructor rewarded her with 2 words upon completion : " good job!" and that sent her afloat for a good 2 hours!

N received her yellow belt with much pride!

Getting even

We were at a bakery and the kids were fighting over the cakes. I divided the number of slices of steamed cakes into 2 bags and Nic was happy to carry 3 pieces while I gave 2 to E. E wasnt happy that he had 1 slice less. He made a fuss and went back into the shop and helped himself to the display!

He grabbed 3 more slices and dropped them into his bag, all done under broad daylight! The sale assistant just stood and watched! I was so embarassed and I had to apologise for his action and returned the cakes. Thankfully, they were not squashed or else we would have ended up eating cakes for breakfast and lunch the following day!

Jie Jie was eaten up!

My 2 kids really dont fancy each other very much. Both were fighting for my attention just before bedtime. Ethan screamed for milk and I went to get him his bottle. When I got back, I didnt see Nicole in the bedroom.

Me " Ethan, where is jie jie? "

E " In the crocodile's mouth!! " (still sobbing away)

Goodness me! That's so vicious! ***

Speech & drama class

My little girl proudly displaying her certificate of participation in a holiday week speech and drama class. She absolutely enjoyed the experience, especially in the company of her good friend, Shanon :)

Cheeky tiger

E refused to participate at Charizze's birthday party. Instead, he entertained himself by wearing his all time favourite tiger mask, armed with "big red claws" - the french fries paper box! He certainly did catch some attention!

Presents

N was all excited when daddy returned home from a business trip.

N " papa, where is my present?"
L " What present? " ( caught off guard)
N " you promised to buy me a present everytime you go for a trip!"

L " oh, ya. Of course, here you go "
N " What is this? "
L " Some honey. You like to drink honey, right?"
N " NO! I didnt ask you to buy honey!" (getting all red!)

L " Oh, how about some Manuka honey? or some calcium tablets? they are good for your bones" N " NO! No! No! I am so angry!!"

Those were stuff I "ordered" and L conveniently dished them out to N, hoping that she would accept any one of them in place of a real present - fat Hope! :)

Self entertainment

Self created costume. One with a tiger mask cum phuachukang boots while the other with a tigeress mask cum sarong! They killed an hour running about in the house, pretending to be the ferocious animal :)

Little baby

E was about to sleep. He snuggled very close to me. I turned around to face my little boy.

Me " Hi little baby"

There was a short pause of 5 seconds before E responded.

E " Mummy, what is my name?"

Me " E. H."

E " Call me E. H. Don't call me little baby"


I was like err??? You are not even 3 yet and you are showing clear signs that you want your own identity already? My little boy has really grown, and matured. I am proud of you, son!

Orange teeth

I was brushing my teeth in the masterbedroom bathroom. Ethan turned from his bed and asked " Mummy, what are you doing? "

Me " brushing my teeth. Do you brush your teeth?"

E " No "

Me " That is no good. Your teeth will be sick if you dont brush them"

E " Yes, orange teeth"

Me " What? yes, I can see, some are orange" (teasing him back)

E " Black too."

I almost fainted. Thank God he was just pulling my legs. His teeth are fine. No orange nor black :)

My cousin and hubby popped over for a visit last week. Robin was very nice to entertain E. He struck a conversation with him.

R " Ethan, can you give me some toys? "
E " ok"
R" Can I take this box home?"
E " ok"

When they were leaving, R reminded E.

R" Ethan, I am taking this box with me ok?"
E " No No! You come again tomorrow " (gesturing to R with his hands)
R " But you promised to give them to me just now"
E " ok. ok Later. Let me finish my food first " ( pointing to his bowl of crackers)
