Snowkin Mooncake 2

Second attempt at snowskin mooncake. My parents loved them as they were of the right sweetness and they were as fresh as they could get :). From steaming to eating, all up within 2 hours. I will be giving some away to friends who like mooncakes :) These are easy to make, relative to shaping and cutting fondant!

Your mooncake printing is beautiful! Mine were not as obvious as your, perhaps I should thicken the skin on top?! Well, at least it still taste ok...lol!

Yeah, one of the goodness of making own mooncake is, we are able to adjust its sweetness! Yay! Happy baking!

Gonna make some flaky egg tart to day!;Dhttp://herfrozenwings.blogspot.com/2011/08/flaky-egg-tarts.html

Hi Alice,

I think it has got to do with the texture of the skin and the mould. I use the "spring" mould, hence I dont need to give it a knock to unmould.

Will pop over soon.

Happy mid autumn festival :)

cheers

Hi Amy,

I made everything from scratch :)
I steamed the batter as I dont like the idea of using the "koh fun" straight from the packet, more for hygiene purposes.

Happy Mid Autumn Festival :)
