Is being No.2 a privilege?

I used to have this unfounded notion that being No.2 in the family would mean that you would always get hand-me-down and nothing else. However, I have a totally different perspective after observing my 2 kids at play.

I see other privileges of being No.2. Ethan is exposed to a lot more "sophisticated" toys at a much younger age. Ethan joined in the fun when Nicole was running Thomas. It was fun to Ethan but disruption to Nicole :)(
