I rang home to check on Nicole at 5pm. A thought just popped up as I spoke to her.
Me " Nicole, I am going to make you a business proposition, listen carefully"
Nic " What is a business proposition?"
Me " Ok, I am going to propose something to you and you can choose to accept or reject"
Nic " ok, that sounds interesting"
Me " Get on to your piano and practise for 30 minutes. Thereafter, write me a FULL PAGE journal on any topic of your choice and...."
Nic " MUMMY!, I dont like your proposition at all!"
Me " No, listen! I have not finished.....and when i get home, I will take you out for a pizza treat. How is that?"
Nic" Oh! that is a good proposition. Ok, I will practise my piano and write the journal right away. See you later"
Me" Great. Remember, I want a full page journal with no drawings ok?"
When I got home, I was presented with this piece of work - a 2 inches by 2 inches note pad filled with words, as she had promised! I couldnt fault her as I did not specifiy the size of the paper, though for all intent and purposes, I was referring to an A4 size paper :(
Well, I got to honour my words and took her out for a pizza meal though I felt so cheated :( Nic was really quick with "loopholeS" ! I gotta be very specific with my words next time I guess!
