We had a long overdue get together party for the kids. In preparation for the party, I baked the followings:
- I prepared the pizza dough the night before, as required by the recipe. I also pre-baked the dough before our guests arrived.
- I baked some Mexican Buns (known as Roti Boy or Roti Mum in the domestic context) without the heaps of buttery sugar fillings!
- I baked some chocolate muffins and chocolate Chiffon cakes
It was my first time baking the Mexican Buns/Chocolate Chiffon cakes and to my greatest pleasure, they turned out pretty good.
The girls had a fun time making their own pizzas. They carefully spread the tomato paste and added their favorite toppings and I was the Chief Chef to bake their pizzas J. Thereafter, they went on to play. Nic and Liz know each other very well while the 2 younger ones were still not entirely comfortable with each other. It was vivid that the girls would stick together in their play leaving poor E out, most of the time. I observed that while the girls were screaming at the top of their voices and jumping up and down trying to catch the ball, little E was quietly sitting on his all time favourite red arm-chair, watching Toys Story L.
Since the girls “made” the pizzas themselves, they tasted extra nice for sure. I prepared four 23cm pizzas and they were all gone in no time!
We ended the party with some fruits, some Emi Cakes bought by SuMei and some home made ice creams. I meant, ice creams made by the kids themselves within a span of 10minutes! The secret is in the salt! We placed some milk + oreo in a zip lock bag. Then we put this zip lock bag in a larger zip lock bag containing ice cubes and lots of salt and zipped it up!. Now, let’s see the magic. The kids were told to shake and rub the bags of ice cubes as they pleased. Almost instantaneously, they witnessed the magic with their own eyes! The milk has solidified and that was chocolate ice cream in their bags! Yum! Yum!
