E for Dan?

Obviously the notion of phonetic reading is beyond comprehension for Ethan. We were just casually reading a book.

Me " Ethan, A for?"
Ethan " A-ple"
Me " Well done. B for?"
Ethan " Ball"
Me" Very good. C for?"
Ethan "Cat"
Me"Good job! E for?"
Ethan " Dan" (in mandarin, meaning Egg)
Me " oh..well done but try to say E-g-g" (I just looked at him and gave him a kiss on his cheek, wasnt he simply so creative?)
Ethan giggled mischieviously while trying to wriggle away to play with che-che :)

I wonder why was "D" missed out and immediately jumped to "E" hmmm....if you have asked, "D for?" and he said 'Dan' then it would be correct liao! *laugh*

hi angeline,

you are pretty observant...D was left out here cos when I asked "D for?" Ethan said "woof"....even more far fetch isnt it??...

hi slavemom,
ethan is 15 months old..and i make an effort to speak to him in both eng and mand..and at times malay and cantonese...though i know based on experience, he would soon lose his ability to understand malay and to a certain extent, cantonese due to a lack of practice..
