There was a mid autumn festival celebration at our residence. Lots of activities were organised; lantern parade, colouring competition, lucky draws, goodie bag distribution and mooncake appreciation. The kids enjoyed it the most, as in most festive celebration :)What came as the biggest surprise to us was the nomination of Nicole's colouring to be the best in category A which was open to kids 6 and below. The judges were having a tough time deciding the winner and they picked Nicole's masterpiece in the end. I guess it was because the other participant was 2 years older and so in relative terms, Nicole's work outshone the other girl's, though I personally thought the other girl had put in much more effort.
It was a pity Nicole was not there to recieve the prize personally as she had to go for her piano lesson. I would have imagined she would be absolutely over the moon if she was there to receive it herself. We also forfeited our lucky draw prize :(
