I can proudly claim that I am a pre-historic dinosour expert now.
I have to read tonnes of books on Dinosaurs everyday, simply because this is E's latest passion, surpassing his once favourite Buzz Light Year & Woody and soon to be forgotten Ben-10.
His collection of Dino is growing by the day. T Rex, Stegosaurous, Diplodocus, etc etc
I really can't recall how his interest in Dino was built upon. All I can remember is, one fine day, he picked several books on Dino from the library and eversince, his choice of books has been circling around these extinct creatures. Of course, to encourage more reading, we also brought him to the Dino exhibition and he was totally astounded when he cast his eyes upon his almost real sized idols.
Like sister like brother, E also does not have any urge to read on his own though I know he knows the words if he bothers to read them one by one. He wants a short-cut. He wants to be read to. (Thank god, with peer pressure, N is reading much more on her own now). I guess I will have to work harder to encourage him to read on his own though I must confess, I have not tried much :(
